About Ben
Hi!
I’ve been an avid player and critic of games for years. Creating boardgames and writing interactive stories from a young age not only served as a creative outlet for me but as a foreshadowing of where my interests and passions would converge when choosing which career to pursue. I took a chance on myself to study game design and development as a major and took that opportunity to get involved with the computer graphics club, eventually being elected president of the club, as well being a lead designer on multiple projects.
I love games, the history behind them, and what makes them tick. I’m collaborative by nature and focus intently on iterative design and thorough playtesting. Games are not developed in a vacuum and are the best example of where creativity and technology meet to create media that can keep players engaged for hundreds and even thousands of hours. Games are meant to be shared and through effective problem solving and innovative design there are no limits to where games can push the player experience and entertainment at large.
I want to inspire others through the stories, worlds, and sharp design that influenced me so greatly as a child. Working in teams and pushing myself to learn more has kept me making games and nothing really excites me more than the future of where games are going.
I immigrated from Denmark with my parents when I was 3 years old and grew up in the Bay Area. When not tinkering in Unity or gaming I spend my time trying to catch up on the Stormlight Archive, imagining a world where the Gauls beat Rome, and trying my darndest to get my Warhammer miniatures to look as good as they do on Instagram. I’m also a winter sports enthusiast and a seasoned skier and hockey fanatic.
